FILM SYNOPSIS

WINNER: Audience Award for Best Short Film at Dead by Dawn 2007

"First Class Danish Puppet Violence" (M! Magazine)

You ever see one of those movies that was so obviously made for you that you can't help but sit back with a huge grin on your face and have a great time? It's like the first time you saw EVIL DEAD 2 or DEAD ALIVE, one of those truly fun flicks that managed to cram in every little bit of humor and gore that tickled you to your very essence? IT CAME FROM THE WEST is one of them. Right from the start this sounded like a can't miss project. It's a zombie/western flick with PUPPETS.

A tribe of redskins take revenge on their white rivals by performing a series of forbidden rituals. What do these rituals do? Resurrect every dead person in the immediate area.

Meanwhile at a saloon nearby a young kid is being ripped on by all of the regulars, who think he's a little pansy. 'Weak-pisser" is their nickname for him, and he really does seem like a little wimp. His father doesn't think much of him either. He soon gets his chance to change everyone's minds though as a zombie comes crashing in through the saloon door, followed by a whole hoard intent on eating some white man flesh.

Yes, this is a tender coming of age tale, as the boy steps into the big shoes of his father. The zombies are dispatched by broken beer bottles, pistols, a buffalo head, dynamite, a spitoon, and one bad-ass steam-powered chainsaw. With a gun attached.

Geek shudders will pass through you as you see zombie puppets being chopped in half and see their gore and ooze splattered all over the walls. The puppets are amazingly detailed, and are all memorable caricatures. They also die real good. (Alex Riviello, Creature Corner)
