Very tense and disturbing. Great story, great acting, great all around.

This one is probably THE film of the festival for me. Other posters here have covered the high points, but I'll reiterate the praise for the strong script and dialogue, the unexpectedly different directing by the guy who brought us "Hatchet" at the last fest, and the strong lead performances, particulary by Tamblyn, who is an adorable delight here. Kudos as well to Moore and Levi for wearing multiple hats in this movie. It's a valid point that it's unlikely that someone as charismatic and appealing as Tamblyn's character would actively pursue Moore's excrutiatingly withdrawn loner, but that just adds to the mystery of the plot, because it suggests, however misleadingly, that perhaps she's running her own game.

Our group was split about this film. But fuck those other guys, it was a great movie! As a nerd who is ALWAYS looking for the films "trick". the ending had me all fucked. Great job to everyone involved.

Spiral was a fully-realized, taughtly-plotted modern thriller. Without a single wasted frame, this film delivered the goods like nothing else has at this year's festival.

"Hitchcock-esque" came up during the Q+A, and while I don't like to describe things by comparing them to others, it couldn't be more right. This film goes has the tempo and elements of older classic films. It's no traditional horror, but instead of making you jump, or trying to gross you out, it successfully keeps you guessing, and creeps you out. Wonderfully executed, and great words shared in person w/the directors. Don't miss this film.

From the director of Hatchet comes a film that is NOTHING like Hatchet, except that it's been lovingly created by up-and-coming masters of the craft. This film rocks. See it.

I will be amazed if I see something I enjoyed more than this film during the festival. I had high hopes for Adam Green and he delivered BIG TIME! This is a radical departure from Hatchet but every bit as good(if not better)-GO SEE THIS!

I was one of the people who quite discourteously left the theatre in the middle of the Q&A for this movie tonight. All I can say in my defense is that I'd needed to go to the bathroom since about 20 minutes into the film, and I was never willing to miss a single minute of this amazing movie for any amount of kidney discomfort. This move and Pan's Labyrinth are my favorite movies in the last 5 years, and I'm not really sure I could pick between the two if forced.
