On Friday, September 3 at 7:00 PM CST, teams will assemble on their hybrid editing consoles/gaming platforms to compete in the first Fantastic Arcade Machinima filmmaking challenge. Each team will have just 48 hours to conceive, direct and edit a short film, four minutes or less in duration. We will provide a line of dialogue, a genre, a lead character name and a personality attribute. Films that were completed prior to the competition are ineligible. All films must be fully conceived and executed within the 48 hours of the competition.
Films can either be uploaded to the Fantastic Arcade site by 7:00pm CST, Sunday, September 5, or local Austin teams can turn in their film at the Highball and enjoy delicious free beer.
Red Vs. Blue creator and Machinima pioneer Burnie Burns will lead the jury of judges who will be announcing the winning films at the Arcade Awards Ceremony.
Top films will also play as official selections of Fantastic Fest and the competition finalists will receive free credentials to Fantastic Arcade. More details including information about registering a team and prizes will be updated here closer to the event.
